EM-5® is an organic pest control non toxic chemical free insect repellent. EM-5 works biologically and is used to increase the plants natural resistance to pests and diseases. EM-5® provides a protective layer on the leaves and is most effective when used as a preventative treatment against insects.
EM-5 can be applied as soon as seedlings emerge. EM-5® is harmless to humans and is safe for use on edible plants, even if they are being picked that day.
EM-5 is normally applied by sprayer or watered onto crops to prevent pest and disease problems. EM-5 works well against common insects problems like aphids, cabbage white caterpillars, carrot root fly and has shown to be successful against red lily beetle.
EM-5 acts by creating a barrier around the plant, thereby protecting the plant from insects and pests. When insects come in contact with EM-5 they become coated in the biological protection that EM-5 offers. Then once the insects return to their nests the biological protection of EM-5 contaminates the insects stored food supply and initiates a fermentation process in the feed, which makes the stored food inedible to the insect populations. Thus depriving the insects of their stored food and driving the insects away organically and totally without the use of chemicals.
EM-5 is made from totally organic ingredients; these consist of EM-1, Molasses, Natural Vinegar , Distilled Spirits, and Water as well as specially selected organic high quantity plant based extracts.
EM-5 is sold in one litre plastic bottles and as it contains effective microorganisms it also improves the growing medium.
