EM-1 is a trade name and is an organic beneficial microbial soil innoculant in its dormant state. EM-1 is totally safe and harmless to all life. The micro organisms within EM-1 exist naturally and are not modified or manipulated in any way; they are totally organic and are cultured according to a specific organic method. Micro organisms are an essential part of life and there are many trillions of micro organisms in a cupful of soil. Soils are a living organism and EM assists in making soil healthy and productive. When added to soil EM-1 produces bioactive substances such as vitamins, hormones, enzymes, antioxidants and antibiotics that enhances plant growth and provides plants with natural protection from pests and diseases. EM-1 produces the beneficial substances from the natural minerals and organic matter that are an essential component of the soil. EM also stimulates the natural yeasts and fungi already present in the soil allowing them to symbiotically bond with the plants and provide additional food for plants. EM-1 is officially certified as organic and complies fully with the requirements of EEC Regulations Nos. 834/2007 and 889/2008 which state the standard required for products to be used in organic food production.

EM is the abbreviation for effective micro organisms and is normally used when describing EM-1. EM can be safely used throughout the home and garden and is not known to have any side effects.

EM Sugar Cane Molasses - comes in either 250ML or 1 litre bottles and is used in conjunction with EM-1 to make EM-Active.

The primary reason to activate EM is economy, not effectiveness. It is perfectly acceptable to use EM without activating it. However, adding a sugar source (molasses) and culturing the micro-organisms ensures that the microbes are active. Having followed the instructions, the end result will be a full strength culture of EM that can then be diluted and applied.

EM-FPE is diluted in water at either 1:500 or 1:1000 and best applied by an atomiser or irrigation system.
