Glyphosate found in human urine

People in 18 countries across Europe have been found to have traces of the weed killer glyphosate in their urine. Tests were commissioned by Friends of the Earth Europe and the results show that traces of of the weedkiller glyphosate were found in humans.

Glyphosate-based weed killers, are commonly used by farmers, public authorities and gardeners across Europe. The use of glyphosate is predicted to rise further if more genetically modified (GM) crops are grown in Europe. There is currently little monitoring of glyphosate in food, water or the wider environment and this study is the first time that monitoring has been carried out across Europe for the presence of the weed killer in human bodies.

The Dangers of Herbicides – Glyphosate

In March 2015 the World Health Organization’s (WHO) International Agency for Research on Cancer classified glyphosate, the most popular herbicide on the market, as “probably carcinogenic in humans”. WHO have stated that there is strong evidence that it can cause cancer in humans, but at present this has not been conclusively proven.

Glyphosate is produced under many different trade names – the most well-known is “Roundup” manufactured by Monsanto. However, many other chemical companies also manufacture and supply glyphosate herbicides.

It is known that some amphibians are particularly sensitive to glyphosate and glyphosate causes problems in the tadpole stages of development.  It is also known that the biodiversity of aquatic communities can be substantially reduced by glyphosate contamination.

Glyphosate can also harm the bacterial ecology of soil and cause micronutrient deficiencies in plants. When glyphosate comes into contact with the soil, it can bind to soil particles, thereby slowing its degradation. Changes in soil texture have been observed and soil can become compacted and there may be less root development in subsequent plantings. Glyphosate is also harmful to some earthworms, even at very low doses, and causes a significant reduction in the growth of some species of earthworms.

Yet even with all the detrimental studies on glyphosate manufactures still continue to produce this poison.

Doctor Seneff is convinced that glyphosate is the main cause of many of modern life’s health problems and a direct cause of autism due to the microscopic buildup of glyphosate in human cells.
